Spring Equinox Decorating Tips for The Astrological New Year
Did you know that the real New Year is in March aka the Astrological New Year aka the Spring Equinox?
If you are getting the itch to refresh, review, realign and redefine your life then you are in sync with today's special day, the Spring Equinox.
For me the Spring Equinox has always felt like the New Year - it just has always felt naturally right. It's when Mama Earth wakes up from hibernation to give birth to a new earth. The trees blossom, flowers bloom, and plants give birth to babies - even the Sun is out brighter and longer.
During this time is when I like to do the typical New Year activities that are common for the West in January - I do these in March (this year, today, March 20th marks that special day) since this time is my new year.
It's when the Astrological wheel begins again for a new year - Hey Aries season - the first zodiac on the zodiac wheel. It marks new beginnings, new chapters and a new life cycle.
This sense of renewal, realignment, and refresh translates to our home as well so I wanted to share some tips on how you can celebrate the Spring Equinox with your home.

Set An Intention
Take some time to think about what the vision is that you have for your space?
What do you want your home to not only look like, but how do you want it feel?
What goals do you have for your home?
What home projects do you want to tackle this year?
How can your home be in true alignment with the version of yourself that you want to grow into this year?
You can write down your answers to these questions in a journal to amplify your intentions, speak them into existence at your altar, or you can even create a vision board for your home.

Rearrange Your Furniture
Switch up the energy in your home by moving around your furniture to create a new furniture layout that will serve this new chapter that you are about to embark on.
You can even work with what you have by switching items out in your home.
Think what piece can you remove from one room in your house to another to give your space a refresh?
Spring Equinox Decorating Tip #3 for The Astrological New Year
Spring Cleaning
There's a reason this term is so popular because as human beings, we are in synch with nature so it makes sense that you may be getting the itch to deep clean your home( ie: scrub walls, moving your furniture away from the walls to clean every crevice, washing your curtains/pillow covers, etc).
It's also natural to feel the urge to declutter and get rid of what no longer is serving your home so that you can have space to welcome the abundance that Universe wants to bless you with.
You're making room for manifestations because if you hold onto to clutter, you are telling the Universe that you don't want to accept the blessings that it wants to provide you with - that you'd rather hold onto the old and not invite the new in.
Hopefully this will make it easier for you to let things go. I know that it always does the trick for me making that much easier to let go of items that I no longer use or need in my home.
Spring Equinox Decorating Tip #4 for The Astrological New Year
Planting New Seeds
Bringing something new into your home to symbolize the new chapter this is starting and plants are a great way to do this since you're literally bringing nature into your home.
The two plants that I recommend for representing new beginnings are the Ivy and Air plants.
If plants are not your vibe, then bing in a new bouquet of flowers since they also symbolize nature.

Refreshing What You Have
Maybe it's time to bring in new curtains, a rug, a piece of furniture or accessory or maybe the time has come to paint your room a brand new refreshing color to honor the Spring Equinox.
What is it in your home that is no longer serving a purpose and what you can you replace it with that will allow for you to feel in alignment with your home?
We are constantly transforming and our home needs to transform along with us so that we can feel in true alignment with our space.
