Room Revamp Ideas For Spring
Spring will officially be here on Saturday!
With Spring Equinox comes time to revamp things. This time of year is my new year. Time to set intentions, goals and just have a fresh start. This includes our home.
It’s the time to change up the energy in our space and so I wanted to give you some room revamp ideas to get your creative juices going so you your space can have a fresh start.
Use all the tips or just one. No matter what you decide, your space will thank you for it.
Room Revamp Ideas: Move Things Around
The easiest and most cost effective way to revamp your space is by just moving your furniture around to come up with a new layout for your room. I promise you that this tip alone will make your room feel completely brand new.
One thing that I will say is to make sure you’re keeping in mind any outlets or cable box connections since this will pretty much dictate where you can place your furniture and lighting in your room. I share more things to look out for when trying to come up with a new layout for your furniture here.
Try it and let me know how your new space makes you feel.
Room Revamp Ideas: Lighting
This brings me to my second point, which is lighting. Lighting in a room is everything and what I find to be so common when working with clients is that there usually isn’t enough lighting in their space.
I break down how much lighting a room should have and types of lighting that are needed to make a space feel bright enough for the mood you’re going for in your room here. So stop by and read it for some lighting 411.
Back to the tip. Try adding more lighting to your room, switching up your lighting or playing around with the wattage in your light bulbs. Maybe the only room revamp idea you need when it comes to lighting is to install a dimmer to set off the right mood in your space. The point is to not be afraid to play around with the lighting in your room.
Room Revamp Ideas: Restyle It
Switching up the styling on your surfaces like a coffee table, nightstand, side table or bookcase is sometimes all you need to give your room a brand new look.
Lay some of your books flat, stand some up, elevate an item that you want people to notice by placing it on top of a cute box or stack of books. Add a tray to your coffee table to give your accessories a stage to shine on. There is so much you can do by moving items around on your surfaces to give your room a mini facelift.
If you’re not feeling confident with your styling skills, I got you. Check out my Styling 101 masterclass here for easy to follow tips to get your bookcase and other surfaces in your space looking cute.
Room Revamp Ideas: Artwork
Try something new for your frames. There are so many places to get artwork from.
You can get creative and create your own artwork with some acrylic paint (grab colors that go with your decor for a cohesive look). Look through some old magazines and cut out a pattern that speaks to you and frame it or hit up Google images and search for a geometric pattern that you love or look for a pattern that fits your design style. Not sure what your design style is, check out this blog post here where I help you figure it out.
Room Revamp Ideas: Paint
Now I left the most common one for last.
But let’s break this one down. Yes, you can paint your room a brand new color and that will do the trick, but what if you love the paint color on your walls? How about you continue all that goodness and paint your ceiling too?! Or what if you paint a stencil onto your ceiling or your walls.
Now that is a room facelift or roomlift? Corny I know! lol
There you have it!
