Learning To Pause
I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately with so much going on with setting up my biz and caring for myself and my babies...we are all sick with the flu including the hubby.I've had to step back and ask myself what is it that is making me feel overwhelmed and I noticed that I'm not pausing to take in all of the wonderful things that are happening to me. What I am proud of is that this time around, I'm acknowledging that I'm overwhelmed and doing something about it.So what might that be you might be wondering? I'm letting go and setting boundaries! So no more staying up til midnight working and no more multitasking! I've noticed that as I've gotten older, I've also gotten worse at multitasking...I'm actually less productive when I try to accomplish too much at once and I also find it impossible to savor and take in the moment. I have to keep in mind why I decided to start my own biz in the first place and one of the many reasons was to be able to spend more time with the kids. So to help with savoring the moment, I've set a couple of rules. No more checking email or researching/brainstorming biz things while spending time with my babies, on weekdays, I will make it to bed by 10p and on weekends...11p. I'll also make sure to take 1-2 days off...so no biz stuff on my off days. I've also begun keeping a hard copy list of all that I've accomplished so far in my biz so that I can reflect on my progress and not be so hard on myself when things don't get done as scheduled. Pheewwww....I feel better already! So if you can relate and are feeling overwhelmed? Take a pause and reflect on your accomplishments...I bet it'll force you to stop and savor it all in.www.redoyourroomonline.com
