Ways Your Space Impacts Your Mental Health
Mental health is tied into your environment because if you’re spending time in a space that does not make you feel good, that does not tie into you trying to better yourself or doesn’t tie into this new version of you, it’s going to f*ck with your mental because you want to have all hands on deck when it comes to your wellness.
What do I mean by all hands on deck?
You want to have your environment on deck, you want to have your physical on deck, you want to have your mental health on deck, you want to have your finances on deck. Like these are all of the pillars of wellness and they all need to be on deck for you to be the best version you can be and grant it, I know that we’re human and not all things are going to be working perfectly and not all things are going to be unison, I understand that, but can we please, try our very best to get there everyday because we deserve that?
So if you’re working on your fitness, you’re working on your mental, you’re working on your fashion, you’re healing, you’re working on your finances, but you’ve forgotten about your space, it’s going to be really hard to maintain that roundness of wellness when you are not paying any attention to your environment and then your higher self is looking at you like what are you doing?
Ways Your Space Impacts Your Mental Health: Healing Is Stunted
Your higher self is like I need you to connect with your space because your space is trying to talk to you and what your space is trying to tell you is, you deserve better, you need to be spending time in a space that serves you, you need to be spending time in a space that is not only beautiful, but connects to you on a deep level because like I’ve said before, Interior Decorating is not a surface level thing like a lot of people think.
It runs deep.
It’s a connection to who you are as a person so like I said before your higher self is looking at you like so we’re just going to ignore all of this here…these four walls, we’re just going ignore the windows, we’re just going to ignore the floors, we’re just going to ignore the whole space. Like I want better for you!
Your higher self is looking at you like I don't know about you, but me over here, I shine bright!
It's like DAMN! You’re doing all this work on this other stuff, on your finances, on your mental health, on the way you look, your nutrition, your career, you know all these things, but you’re forgetting about your environment. You’re forgetting about me!
Ways Your Space Impacts Your Mental Health: Mood Swings
Because like I’ve said in the past, at the end of the day, when you’ve gone through your day, out in the world…where do you come back to? You come back to your home. And if the home that is greeting you at the door doesn’t light you up, you’re not excited when you’re turning that key to come into your home.
Your space is not an extension of who you are and does not meet you where you are, does not tie into who you are as a person & who you are now that you’ve gone through this transformation of self and it's like what are we doing?
Because as much as you have as many of those wellness pillars checked off, the better off you’re going to be.
So I need you to connect with your space because your space is trying to talk to you and what your space is trying to tell you is, you deserve better, you need to be spending time in a space that serves you, you need to be spending time in a space that is not only beautiful, but connects to you on a deep level because like I’ve said before Interior Decorating is not a surface level thing like a lot of people think. It runs deep.
It’s a connection to who you are as a person so like I said before, your higher self is looking at you like so we’re just going to ignore all of this here…these four walls, we’re just going ignore the windows, we’re just going to ignore the floors, we’re just going to ignore the whole space. Like I want better for you! Your higher self is looking at you like I don’t know about you, but me over here, I shine bright! It’s like damn! You’re doing all this work on this other shit: on your finances, on your mental health, on the way you look, your nutrition, your career, you know all these things, but you’re forgetting about your environment. You’re forgetting about me.
So I ask you again to sit with yourself and sit in your space so that you can sit in silence & really listen to what your space is trying to tell you.
Some of you guys already know what your space is trying to tell you and those who already know, think about how are we going to start transforming our space to be in alignment with who we’ve transformed into like that’s the HW I’m going to leave you with today.
Is really sit with your space, figure out what your space is trying to tell you. Like tap into your space and listen, listen to your space, feel, if you’re not a listener then feel what your space is trying to tell you, what is the connection the space is trying to have with you? And start there and for those of you who already know but you’re being hard headed about it, you’re procrastinating about it, you’re putting it at the bottom of your to do list, think of ways you can bring that closer up to the top because your environment is a part of your wellness and if we’re all on this self love self care journey that everybody talks about, then why are we ignoring our spaces? Because tending to our spaces is an act of self love so give it the attention it deserves so that it can finally serve you.
