It's like a big ass maze in this store, but I've figured it out. I've cracked the code. Click through for the insider interior design tips.I've cracked the code.Well at least I've got the store in Elizabeth, NJ figured out and this took some skill (I know that I mentioned that before, but I felt that if was worth repeating since this is a proud moment for me).Anyone that's wasted a whole fucking day at this store knows that I've acquired mad skills and so I want to share with you my tips to getting in and out of IKEA faster

Get In and Out of IKEA Faster: Enter Through The Exit Door

Yes, I said use the exit door to enter the store.  It leads you straight to the warehouse where all of the items that you need are waiting for you.  Far, far away from the show room (more on that in a quick sec).

Get In and Out of IKEA Faster: Stay Far Away From The Showroom

You want to avoid the show room like the plague.  For one, it puts ideas in your head that you just don't need.  You've come prepared with your shopping list in hand, but all of that preparation will go out the window if you find your way into the showroom. What's going to happen (I can see it now-yes, I'm related to Cleo lol).  You're going to get all happy go lucky when you see the pretty rooms in the showroom and then you're going to let temptation take over and it'll be a wrap (ie: you'll end up buying a bunch of shit that you don't need and not to mention wandering the store like a lost kid looking for his mother).

Get In and Out of IKEA Faster: Plan Ahead

Have your shopping list on hand and stick to it so you're in and out.  Nothing more to say on that!

Get In and Out of IKEA Faster: Grab a Portable Map

This is golden when you're new to an IKEA store since all of them have different lay outs.

The maps are usually by the entrance with the measurement tape, pencils and catalogs.  I say grab one and exit right back out using the entrance door (remember I said enter through the exit door, not the entrance?!).

Get In and Out of IKEA Faster: Confirm Before You Go

Know what you want already?  I say hop on their website and see if the item is in stock before you waste time and gas going to the store just to find that your item is out of stock or worse discontinued (speaking from experience, this sucks big time).I say take it even one step further and call the store to reconfirm that the item is actually in stock.  The call will be super worth it.  Trust me.

Get In and Out of IKEA Faster: Use The Furniture Finder Computer Thingy

Using this gadget is key and will save you TONS of time.  Just enter a keyword for what you're looking for and the computer will spit out the exact location of the item in their warehouse (aisle # and everything!).

Genius right?!  I think so.  Oh and don't forget to grab a cart while you're at it.

Get In and Out of IKEA Faster: Take Advantage of The Family Parking Spots

They are closer to the actual store then the regular parking and will save you from having to walk like a mile to the store from your car.

Get In and Out of IKEA Faster: Avoid Weekend Shopping

This one's a no brainer.  You don't ever want to go to Ikea on the weekend unless you don't mind giving up an entire day there. If you actually have a life, I say go during the week and save yourself a headache and lots, I mean, lots of time.  Oh and their AS-IS section is bangin' during the week (lots of cool discounted stuff during the week).

There you have it!
